About me

Dr. Koushik Mishra is currently working as Research Associate at CSIR-Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata. He graduated in Production Engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology under West Bengal University of Technology, W.B in the year 2012. His All India Rank in GATE-2013 in Production and Industrial Engg. (Paper Code: PI) was 95. With this, he did his M.E and Ph.D (Engg.) from Production Engineering Department, Jadavpur University, Kolkata in the year 2015 and 2021 respectively. At PG level research, he developed vibration assisted micro–Electro Discharge Machining (Micro-EDM) setup from scrap vibrator of mobile phones for enhancing machining rate and accuracy during micro machining of advanced materials of the controlled micro EDM. For this work he received National Award entitled ‘Best M. Tech thesis in Mechanical Engineering’ bestowed by ISTE, New Delhi in the year 2015. After that, he did his Ph.D (Engg.) as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under a sponsored project of AR&DB, DRDO, New Delhi (Project-GTMAP-1773). As one of the outcomes, an Indian Patent was granted on the tool holding apparatus with leak-proof Electrolyte through Spindle (ETS) system in the year 2022. During January, 2022 to April, 2024 he served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science & Technology, Kolkata. Other than teaching, during this tenure, he hold some responsibilities like Committee Member of Institutional Intellectual Property Right (IPR) cell, organized two International Conferences as organising secretary etc. and drafted and filed 8 patents for the college. Dr. Mishra joined as Research Associate at CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata on 1st July, 2024. Now he is more focused in the field of Auxetic Metamaterials and Additive Manufacturing. He had been invited in the 40th Matador Conference on Advanced Manufacturing Technology (MATADOR-2019) for paper presentation which was held at Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, China during 08th to 10th July 2019. Dr. Mishra is reviewer of some prestigious International Journals. He has completed one year of Post Graduate Diploma course on Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Business Management (IPR & TBM) from Dept. of Science & Technology and Biotechnology, Govt. of West Bengal from June, 2024 to June, 2025. Currently Dr. Mishra is having four Patents (3 Granted & 1 published), 11 journals (9 SCI, 1 SCOPUS, 1 PEERED), 10 conference proceedings, 5 book chapters in Springer, Total citations- 108, h-Index- 5 (as per SCOPUS).
